Kim Kanuho

Kim Kanuho is the President of Fourth World Design Group LLC. She is a member of the Navajo Nation originally from Fort Defiance, AZ. Mrs. Kanuho is from the Tábąąhí (Water's Edge People) clan born for the Tódích'íinii (Bitter Water People) clan. She is an alumnus of Arizona State University’s College of Architecture and Design where she received her Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning and Master’s in Urban & Environmental Planning (MUEP). She has over fifteen years of experience working with Tribal communities in the planning, design and construction field. Growing up on the Navajo Nation, Kim is passionate about utilizing her education, experience and cultural teachings to promote positive planning for the future growth and development toward creating self-sustaining Tribal Nations.

Rio Lopez

Rio Lopez is an Intern Planner at Fourth World Design Group.  He is a member of the Gila River Indian Community south of Phoenix in Sacaton, AZ.  Rio was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon.  He is currently attending and obtaining my master's in architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Being born off the reservation, he continues to invest and learn more about the traditions and cultures of indigenous groups especially his own; Akimel O’odham.  As an architecture student, he looks forward to better understanding how to build, design, and plan in a Native mentality.
